A
few miles further south is picturesque Siletz Bay.
Siletz Bay boasts its own resident colony of harbor
seals, which frolic in the bay and sun themselves
on a protected area on the south side of the bay.
This is a famous spot for crabbing and a very popular
area for windsurfing.
Twelve miles south of Lincoln City is Depoe Bay,
home of the world’s smallest harbor and
a US Coast Guard station. Depoe Bay offers deep
sea fishing trips, whale watching and sightseeing
trips, as well as many unique gift shops and great
restaurants..
Twenty miles south of Lincoln City is the city
of Newport, home of the Oregon Coast Aquarium,
The Hatfield Marine Science Center and a quaint
bay-front area. Formerly the home of Keiko the
internationally famous killer whale (Free Willie
movie). Keiko has since been relocated to Greenland
for rehabilitation for return to the wild.
The Chinook Winds Casino is located at the north
end of Lincoln City and features a wide variety
of gaming and the top named entertainers in the
country.
Ten miles north of Lincoln City is Cascade Head,
a picturesque coastal landmark and home of the
Sitka Center for the Arts and many wonderful nature
trails. |
