   About the Area
Cascade Head
Lincoln City is located on the 45th Parallel halfway between the North Pole and the Equator. Rand McNally, in a recent publication, identified the central Oregon Coast (Lincoln City and Newport) as the second most moderate climate in the country. We are 86 miles (1.5 hours drive) from Portland. With over seven miles of beach, Lincoln City is a favorite vacation destination.
Activities enjoyed by visitors include beach-combing, windsurfing, crabbing, surf fishing, kite flying, agate hunting, trail hiking, kayaking, whale watching, bird watching, skin diving, and, everybody’s favorite, dining at some of Lincoln City’s renowned restaurants. Of course, we shouldn’t leave out shopping. Lincoln City has many gift shops and galleries, not to mention our Factory Stores @ Lincoln City (the largest factory store outlet in Oregon). This facility offers a multitude of stores including clothing, china, electronics, and much, much more (over sixty-five stores).

Just south of The O’dysius hotel is the D-River, connecting Devils Lake to the Pacific Ocean, it is the world’s shortest river and is in the Guinness Book of World Records. D-River wayside is a favorite location for Kite Flying Competitions and has a wonderful sandy beach just right for sunbathing, whale watching or just a leisurely walk.

Siletz Bay
A few miles further south is picturesque Siletz Bay. Siletz Bay boasts its own resident colony of harbor seals, which frolic in the bay and sun themselves on a protected area on the south side of the bay. This is a famous spot for crabbing and a very popular area for windsurfing.

Twelve miles south of Lincoln City is Depoe Bay, home of the world’s smallest harbor and a US Coast Guard station. Depoe Bay offers deep sea fishing trips, whale watching and sightseeing trips, as well as many unique gift shops and great restaurants..

Twenty miles south of Lincoln City is the city of Newport, home of the Oregon Coast Aquarium, The Hatfield Marine Science Center and a quaint bay-front area. Formerly the home of Keiko the internationally famous killer whale (Free Willie movie). Keiko has since been relocated to Greenland for rehabilitation for return to the wild.

The Chinook Winds Casino is located at the north end of Lincoln City and features a wide variety of gaming and the top named entertainers in the country.

Ten miles north of Lincoln City is Cascade Head, a picturesque coastal landmark and home of the Sitka Center for the Arts and many wonderful nature trails.

The O’dysius Hotel is ideally and centrally located to be your vacation base for the exploration of the Central Oregon Coast.
