Lincoln
City is located on the 45th Parallel halfway between
the North Pole and the Equator. Rand McNally, in
a recent publication, identified the central Oregon
Coast (Lincoln City and Newport) as the second most
moderate climate in the country. We are 86 miles
(1.5 hours drive) from Portland. With over seven
miles of beach, Lincoln City is a favourite vacation
destination.
Activities enjoyed by visitors include beach-combing,
windsurfing, crabbing, surf fishing, kite flying,
agate hunting, trail hiking, kayaking, whale watching,
bird watching, skin diving, and, everybody’s
favourite, dining at some of Lincoln City’s
renowned restaurants. Of course, we shouldn’t
leave out shopping. Lincoln City has many gift shops
and galleries, not to mention our Factory Stores
@ Lincoln City (the largest factory store outlet
in Oregon). This facility offers a multitude of
stores including clothing, china, electronics, and
much, much more (over sixty-five stores).
Just south of The O’dysius hotel is the
D-River, connecting Devils Lake to the Pacific
Ocean, it is the world’s shortest river
and is in the Guinness Book of World Records.
D-River wayside is a favorite location for Kite
Flying Competitions and has a wonderful sandy
beach just right for sunbathing, whale watching
or just a leisurely walk. |
